Strange life of city-अजीब शहर की ज़िन्दगी: Bashir Bhadr बशीर भद्र

Here he talks about the city life which has left the cultural values and relations of respect and care behind and people are meeting to each other now for selfish reasons, once their work is over they become strangers to you and no more respect or love.

Following is the effort of literal translation of the given lines–

The life of a City is really strange, neither journey nor any destination

Somewhere it is noon like a business, or an evening like a gloomy-gus

In a wish to meet everyday and a conversation about taking care

There is no decency rather this selfish person needs some favours

Where are those blessings of fortune, those advises, those scoldings

It is just a straightforward demand, or a greeting in need

My respected fellow bloger Mr Manuel from macalderblog puts it in the better words as follows–

“It is that he is absolutely right on the world.

The city has become a hotbed of personal need.

There is no friendship that is worth.

You only think about the convenience of taking personal advantage

in the re-meetings and the true friendship does not exist.

Ultimately, one cannot trust others. Sad panorama of the city and its inhabitants.”

      2. I feel that javed akhtar sahab’s rekhta poetrys are much more oriented towards a particular agenda. Just like in munawae rana sahab’s shayaris and nazme revolves around family love. But we can’t say about one’s likes and interests🙂. All are legends. My favourite shayar is waseem barelvi sahab.
