AUGUSTA, Ga. – The most wonderful time of the golf season comes on Thursday, when the beauty of April surrounds the Augusta National Golf Club. Although the sky has been a bit darker than usual early in the week – rain has been steady for the first few days as practice sessions have been canceled on Tuesdays and Wednesday afternoons – there is no doubt that the 2022 Championship will be another star-studded affair.

Most of the world’s best golfers are on the packed field that hosts Augusta this week. Hideki Matsuyama is defending the green jacket while most others on the field are expecting to be with him as winners for the first time when the final round kicks off on Sunday.

While it’s a dream for many to attend the Masters, it’s an incredible treat every year to be able to watch golf at the most impressive level of them all, and we here at CBSSports.com are excited to bring you wall-to-wall coverage about Champions all this week.

CBS Sports offers extensive, week-long coverage on all of its systems with standard 18-hole coverage starting on the third round on Saturday and the final round on Sunday. Jim Nantz, the 37th year in a row that he discusses the Masters, serves as host for the 35th time. Three-time Masters champion Sir Nick Faldo, 26 years after his third victory in the green jacket, joins Nantz in the 18th tower as chief analyst. Nantz and Faldo join the amazing CBS Sports golf team as described below.

Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Cameron Smith and Scottie Scheffler are at the top of the rankings, according to Caesars Sportsbook, as none of the four have previously claimed a green jacket. The most notable name in this field is of course Phil Mickelson, but Tiger Woods is at the Masters for the first time since 2020 and is playing professional golf for the first time in 14 months.

As for who will win? Check out the 2022 Masters predictions and selections from our CBS Sports experts, and be sure to follow the Masters coverage live as the 1st round begins.
