Apple launches “Friday Night Baseball” radio stations and production information from April 8 on Apple TV + only
Apple today announced a selection of TV stations and production enhancements for “Friday Night Baseball,” which begins tomorrow, April 8, only on Apple TV +. Fans can access “Friday Night Baseball” games and extras, including new episodes such as “Countdown to First Pitch” and “MLB Daily Recap,” which launches today on the Apple TV app.
Starting Friday, April 8, the broadcast team Melanie Newman (game by game), Chris Young (expert), Hannah Keyser (expert) and Brooke Fletcher (journalist) will call the New York Mets at the Washington Nationals at 7 pm ET; and Stephen Nelson (game before game), Hunter Pence (analyst), Katie Nolan (analyst) and Heidi Watney (journalist) make up the crew that will call the Houston Astros at the Los Angeles Angels game at 9:30 p.m. . Game programs for “Friday Night Baseball” radio stations will be announced weekly. In her new role with “Friday Night Baseball,” Newman becomes the second woman to lead the national radio team; she joined the Baltimore Orioles broadcast team in 2020.
“Live Night Baseball” live before and after the game will be hosted by Lauren Gardner, along with a team of experts and former Major League Baseball (MLB) players, including Carlos Peña, Cliff Floyd and Yonder Alonso.
Programming games are available to anyone who has Internet access, free of charge, only on Apple TV +. Users can find step-by-step instructions for accessing “Friday Night Baseball” between devices.
Produced by the MLB Network Emmy Awards team in partnership with Apple, “Friday Night Baseball” will offer a modern and powerful broadcasting experience that appeals to both new and experienced viewers. Each broadcast will use the latest cameras, including high-speed Phantoms, high-resolution Megalodon, and more throughout the season to show live, live images and offer comprehensive 5.1 5.1 audio with local audio enabled. “Friday Night Baseball” will also feature on-screen graphics that include innovative new predictions based on probabilities of different situations, as well as highlights and live insights from the league that are integrated directly into the broadcast. Through the “Friday Night Baseball” broadcasts, fans can enjoy on-screen calls about hiking songs from Apple Music, test their knowledge of baseball with the help of Siri and more. And in the first game for MLB games, “Friday Night Baseball” will include a rule analysis and interpretation from former MLB referee Brian Gorman.
In addition to two tent games on Friday nights during the regular season, fans in the US and Canada can enjoy a new 24/7 live schedule with recurring MLB games, news and analysis, highlights, classic games and more. Every Thursday, fans can watch “First Countdown” to get a preview of the upcoming games of the week and every morning on “MLB Daily Recap” for highlights across the league, both only available on Apple TV + and “MLB Big Inning” “A similar episode with live insights and highlights of the game each week night. In addition, fans will be able to watch entire games, as well as dense game replays, upon request on Apple TV + after the live broadcasts end each week.
In Apple News, fans can easily follow their favorite teams and watch personal MLB highlights directly in the News app. Today, fans can find an opening day preview hosted by Apple News editors, and every Friday they can enjoy a group of highlights and stories from around the league, and easily click to watch “Friday Night Baseball” directly in the Apple TV app.
At Apple Music, fans can find unique playlists of songs from teams that perform at Friday Night Baseball each week, as well as a collection of classic songs celebrating baseball.
“Friday Night Baseball” games will be available to anyone who has Internet access between devices where Apple TV + is available, including the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K and HD, and on TV .apple.com, along with smart TVs, game consoles and cable sets. “Friday Night Baseball” will be available on Apple TV + in the US, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Korea and the UK, and for a limited time, without the need for a subscription.
