The Google Wallet / Google Pay split is messy but might just work

It sounds confusing, but Google has decided to rebrand Google Pay into Google Wallet in various countries. Though in the US and Singapore, it plans to keep Pay and launch the companion Wallet app. Analysts aren’t sure what to make of Google’s move and are split on whether this will confuse users or not.

At Google I / O, the company announced Wallet, which will secure and store payment cards, passes, IDs digitally, and more. In addition to this, users (in specific regions) will still be able to use Pay, which will function as it has in the past.
